Aims
To compose for (full) orchestra with the goal of remotely realising a professional recording in collaboration with the FAMES! Orchestra of Macedonia
Relation to other modules
Related to the main subject and theory modules.
Content
The Composition Projects comprise a composition laboratory. By applying an extremely direct methodology to a mini-project (i.e.: writing a piece), the aim here is to gain familiarity and experience with developing an idea, coming up with the notes, arranging, notating correctly, rehearsing and performing. The student exclusively discovers or is given answers to the questions that are directly generated by their compositions, which in turn results in an extremely efficient learning process.

This elective for CFT Year 4 allows the student to gain experience writing the score and parts for a (full) orchestra and experiencing a professional recording session. The music is written for and (remotely) recorded by the FAMES! Orchestra in Macedonia.
Mode(s) of instruction
Individual coaching and instruction that, depending on the composition of the group, takes place entirely on-campus, entirely online or in a combination of both, i.e., that there are attendees both physically in the classroom and virtually via a screen. Online attendees communicate by seeing, talking and listening to each other and the on-campus attendees equally. The teacher has access to a whiteboard, application sharing, desktop sharing and document sharing and can hand this privilege to any other participants.
Apart from the video conference a high quality stereo audio stream is open at the same time via source connect. That way students and instructor can listen to music from any source of the group and talk about it simultaneously.
