Aims
In this course our aim is to
- become capable of manipulating commercial Sample Libraries
- develop advanced skills for Native Instruments KONTAKT and hidden
functions
- develop own KONTAKT Libraries (with and without scripting)
- implement KONTAKT Scripts into KONTAKT to improve your production
workflow immensely!
- grow understanding of scripting fundamentals
- design your own short KONTAKT scripts that will help you to tweak and alter sample libraries to your own taste.

Always wanted to generalize your Keyswitches and MIDI CC no matter which KONTAKT Library it is?
Always wanted to purge and load all your Instances with one CC?
Always wanted to add Round Robin to the cheap library you just bought? These are just catch phrases. You wont believe the possibilities!
Classes are divided into two main sections:
1. Subjects that usually can not be found on YouTube or tutorials and are secret ingredients to send you on your way as a producer;
2. Topics that you are interested in. Topics to choose from will be given in the class.
Here are just some tags and technical catchwords:
- KONTAKT
=> Mapping Editor, Sample Loop, Instrument Effects, Group Editor, Expert Instance View
- KONTAKT Scripting
=> Variables, Conditional Statements, User Elemens, Instrument Script Callbacks, Multiscript Callbacks, raw MIDI data handling, engine parameters
- Sample Libraries
=> Custom User interface design, Round Robin, fake Round Robin, legato,

=> Sublime Text, Gimp, KnobMan, Developer Tools, Sample Cutting using RX or Reaper.

Material & Tools
The participants need to own:
- PC or Mac
- NI KONTAKT (minimum version 5.4.1)
- A DAW of choice that can run KONTAKT
Cubase, Pro Tools, Logic.
Student activity
In this module students will
- be creating their own Sample Libraries during the course
- set up their Music Production Templates using KONTAKT Scripts
- apply basic math and scripting techniques used for their field of profession
- work with the KONTAKT Script Editor, other Script Editors and Software.

Criteria
Students should have mastered the elements described under Content.
Pass requirements
The student has completed this module if they are awarded a minimum grade of 5.5 at the end of the module.
Examination procedure
Evaluated regarding the overall involvement of the student and the small assignments throughout the whole course.
