Aims
Developing a profound routine of mixing 5.1 and Dolby Athmos and learning to abstract cinematic sound to the mixing situation in the studio.
Relation to other modules
Related to CFT Main Subject.
Content
Exploring the possibilities and limitations of surround sound, we create impulse responses from the Focus Film theater and use them as filter in our surround mixing environment in the ArtEZ Studio 3.17.
From there we mix our own music, convert it to DSP and listen to it in the cinema. Here we experience first hand how the mix sounds and take this into consideration for the next mix in the studio. Listening and mixing session will be 1:1 so half of the sessions take place in the cinema, the other half in the studio.
