Admitted to second year of Bachelor Jazz & Pop or Composition for Film and Theatre. This subject can only be followed on-campus.

Content
Students bring in their own compositions.
All participanting students give feedback and there will be talk about alternatives and choices of notes, chords, harmony, rhythm, instrumentation etc.
Usually most important is to find the strongest idea of a composition and how to develop it further.
The lecturer will bring some examples of existing compositions or originals to show the students examples.
Sometimes the lecturer will instantly compose to give the participants an idea how to work and what to focus on.

Examination and assessment

Mode(s) of assessment
Assessment by the instructor at the end of each semester.
Criteria
Students should have mastered the elements described under Contents.
Pass requirements
The student has completed this module if they are graded "satisfactory".
Examination procedure
Students are assessed at the end of both semesters. Assessment at the end of the autumn semester is formative and expressed in terms of satisfactory/unsatisfactory. It indicates a student's progress in this module. No ECs are awarded and there is no resit. Modules can only be absolved, and ECs awarded, after the end of the spring semester. The end-of-semester assessments comprise evaluations of students' performance during the lessons and assignments.
