Prerequisites
Admitted to year 2 Jazz & Pop with guitar as main subject. Students with a serious guitar- related minor are also welcome. This subject can also be followed online.

Content
This course focuses on developing safe(r) and ergonomic guitar playing, and aims to prevent injuries and help the guitarist get insight in what really constitutes healthy technique. We mainly work on practical foundations – everything from hand coordination, wrist position and interaction between hands, to overall tension reduction, working on healthy posture and breathing. This course combines small weekly group classes with a module that the student needs to work through and which will be assessed with an individual meeting at the end of the academic year.

Criteria

Pass requirements
The student has completed this module if being awarded a minimum grade of 5.5 at the end of the second semester.

Students are assessed at the end of the module. The assessments comprise evaluations of students' performance during the lessons.
