Content
In this elective, you get to know improvisational theater and practice the most important basic techniques.
Together we will explore key concepts such as presence in the moment, becoming aware of your impulses, accepting and building on the impulses of your fellow actors, contact, cooperation, support, dynamics and rhythm. In this way, we will create a safe space where you can learn the art of surrendering to the process.
Theatre offers a powerful, experience-orientated means of getting to know your own instrument (body and mind) better, and from there all those elements. You also learn to develop an attitude of openness and freedom to play with the material at hand. The most important drivers are your own confidence to be playful in the presence of others, and to have the willingness and curiosity to explore new territory.
You will learn the basic skills, you will be shaping space, juggling with time and creating numerous characters.
Various exercises and game forms provide a clear framework and support so that both humorous and more profound theatrical situations arise.
