Relation to other modules
This module is related to the main subject module.
Content
This elective band will explore, transcribe, interpret, arrange, rehearse and find its sound, working on the pieces that are being played on the famous Herbie Hancock album The New Standard. This album consists of a series of arrangements of famous pop-tunes, played with acoustic instruments by an all-star group. This same concept of arranging other pop-tunes in a personal way, and playing them in an energetic way, emphasising on improvising, will be the format for this elective band.
This band is initiated by Jeroen van Vliet. Note that we can not guarantee which teacher will lead a band, it will be clear by September.
