Form / content / level

Prerequisites
Admitted to Jazz&Pop 3rd or 4th year. Students either form an act or band together and attend in full, or are artist-writers and come in as a solo act. Either way; you create original material. This subject can only be followed on campus.
Competencies
See Competencies Matrix.
Aims
Developing a solid foundation for your act: artistically as well as in communication to the outside world.
Relation to other modules
Related to the main subject modules and Entrepreneurship.
Content
In order for you to stand out as an act, you have to tell a clear and authentic story in your music. And this story needs to resonate in all your output, ranging from your social media videos to the tone of your biography. First we focus on your songwriting and/or compositions. From your music we try to unveil what your story is. Then we start building a press kit based on this clear vision. You develop moodboards and from there work out communications like a biography whilst simultaneously developing a vision for your press photos, live performances, videos, social media content etc.
Mode(s) of instruction
90-minute consultation hour in which you can ask your questions on a subject at hand and learn from each other’s consultations. You don’t have to attend each time, but you do have to work towards your goals that we will uncover together at the beginning of the year.
Material & Tools
Your own.
Student activity
Organizing a short presentation where your music and your story become a very distinct experience for the audience.
