Competencies
Aims
Presentation is the annual performative culmination of each year in the Artistic Practice cluster. It is the moment where the artistic development that students build through APD becomes visible: expressed in and shared with an audience, and reflected upon through a Critical Response Process (CRP) session.
Relation to other modules
Presentation is part of the Artistic Practice cluster and relates to all its subjects. In addition, it is closely related to Main Instrument and Ensemble lessons, as well as various elective courses.
Content
Each year, students independently organise all aspects of their presentation: selecting a programme, writing new material (optional), arranging pieces, choosing ensemble members, rehearsing, organising the technical setup
and stage presentation. The presentation may take the form of a concert, but other formats — such as a lecture-performance, a thematic set or a site-specific presentation — are permitted where they serve the student's artistic intentions.
Each presentation is followed by a Critical Response Process (CRP) session. The student takes the role of the artist; a panel of three to five teachers and any additional invited responders engage in structured dialogue.
Responders first offer statements of meaning, then respond to the artist's own questions, before asking neutral questions of their own. Opinions are given only on explicit invitation from the artist. The session is facilitated by a staff member.

Student activity
The student independently creates, prepares and organizes a musical presentation of 45 minutes.
Examination and assessment
Mode(s) of assessment
live presentation followed by a Critical Response Process (CRP) session with a panel of three to five teachers & peers. The presentation and CRP are documented and these materials, as well as reflection thereupon by the student, are added to the Artistic Cluster Portfolio. The portfolio is assessed at the end of the year, by a panel of examiners.
Criteria
The Artistic Practice cluster is assessed through the five domains:
1) Artistic Direction: does the student present with a clear and recognisable artistic intention?
2) Experimentation & Process: is the artistic development visible in the choices made in the presentation?
3) Reflective Awareness: does the student demonstrate awareness of what they are doing and why?
4) Contextual Awareness: is the work positioned within a broader artistic context?
5) Articulation & Sharing: is the presentation convincing as a shared artistic act?
Pass requirements
100% Attendance criterium. The student must add a documentation of their Presentation in their portfolio, comprising of good quality image and sound registration.
Examination procedure
The Artistic Practice cluster is assessed by way of a Portfolio comprised by the student. The Portfolio contains materials, reflections, creations, and documentations from all modules that are part of the cluster. The Artistic Cluster Portfolio is passed when the student is awarded a 'pass.'

Module summary
Presentation is the performative counterpart to APD: the moment where the artistic development built across the full curriculum becomes tangible in front of an audience. Each year, the presentation is followed by a Critical Response Process (CRP) session.
