Content
For more than 30 years, electronic music is a big part of the music scene. Not only techno and house dj's but also the combination of dj and live performers, using Pioneer and Rekordbox as the standard equipment and platform for live performances. The Netherlands is famous for its dj/live acts like Wicked Jazz Sounds, Blue Note Trip, Hardsoul Live, Venus Tunes Live and more.
A hybrid dj/live act allows you to have a stand-alone electronic performance with the possibility to extend to a bigger line-up. As a dj'ing musician you can carry a performance by yourself but you also can extend your line-up with another dj/musician or other musicians.
We will learn about the dj console and how to mix, how to prepare a dj set, how to play along with a dj and also working towards integrating electronic tracks, covers and originals into an authentic performance.
Depending of the size of the group, one or more smaller groups will be formed during the dj lessons and when forming acts. Stylistically this is open to everything with a beat and enough space to play on top of it, for example disco, house, techno, electronica, hiphop, afro.
